Salsa Classes in Southampton
We have a very friendly and vibrant Salsa scene on the South Coast.
For people who have never danced before, we have Absolute Beginners classes running every week of the year, where we assume you know nothing & perhaps have 2 or more left feet!
Each night we have 3 or 4 classes running concurrently so that you can progress at your own speed. Our wonderful teachers give you expert tuition with heaps of fun & lots of TLC. (Click here to read our philosophy)
After
the dance classes finish at 9.30pm, the music continues, the lights go down
and you start dancing with everyone else until 11pm. This is the social element of Salsa, as it is more than just a dance class and then go home! It can be addictive and seriously heatlhy, where you meet lots of lovely new people in a fun and friendly environment.
Partners are very welcome, but not obligatory.
You can just turn up on your own or with friends and we'll rotate the
partners for you.
So even if you have 2, or more, left feet, join us on the dance floor and we will guide you through every step along the way.

Absolute Beginners have a 4-week
Salsa course beginning on
the first Tuesday of each month. The next
course will start on Tuesday,
7 Sept 2010 and run for
the duration of that month, after which time, students can progress
into the Improvers class held at the same time with another teacher,
on a drop-in basis. If you have missed this course and want to be reminded
for the next one nearer the time, please
contact us and mention 'Salsa at Ford'. Our courses start on the first Tuesday
of every month except December ie: 7 Sept,

No need to book or bring a partner, just smooth-soled shoes ... and some comfortable clothing!

Classes for Recent Beginners to Advanced dancers are held on a drop-in basis with different teachers.
All you need to do is turn up and we'll do everything else for you!

NB - 2 Sept - Salsa class for Absolute & Recent Beginners (Levels 1 & 2) continue as usual.
However, Steve is teaching Bachata Rueda in the main ballroom instead of the Level 3 and 4 classes.
We assume you know nothing about Bachata or Rueda and give you all the instruction you need - it's great fun!
There
is an Absolute Beginners class every week of the year (except at Xmas).
So it doesn't matter which Thursday you arrive as the classes are structured
on a 'drop-in' basis, with no need to book or bring partners. All other classes are held concurrently.
All you need to do is turn up and we'll do everything else for you!

The club has a superb dance floor, licensed bar, air con and ample parking behind the club or in the school opposite.

This is a fantastic freestyle night every 2 weeks of the year where people come from all over the South Coast to enjoy our warm and friendly vibe:

Improvers/Intermediates: 2.45-4.30pm

NO Rueda on 28 August
Rueda is
a circular Cuban Salsa dance where a leader calls moves in quick succession
and everyone follows. It's exciting and sometimes chaotic, but above all
it's fun.

The Beginners class is suitable for Salsa dancers with a minimum of 8
weeks dancing experience.
Improvers must know Abajo, Arriba, Dame dos, Enchufle doble, Vacilila
and others
